Hey there! My name is Alaina. I was born and raised in Madison, and never want to leave. I’ve adored animals my entire life, and declared at the young age of three that “someday, I’m going to be a vet!”
I go to school at Edgewood College, studying biology in hopes of going to Veterinary School at UW-Madison. I am frequently asked whether I want to work with big or small animals, and truth be told, I can’t decide! I’ve ridden horses since I was eight years old, and have owned and loved a myriad of animals including bearded dragons, an American mini pig and recently a hedgehog. Who knows, maybe I’ll specialize in exotics! Regardless of the species I might be working with, I am confident that a profession where I am able to help animals is what I’m meant to do.
During my free time, I enjoy volunteering at Heartland Farm Sanctuary; cuddling with Elphie, my Bernese Mountain Dog; or my cats Ollie and Chai. I also work part-time at EVP coffee shop and make a mean latte! Something I am looking forward to this year is studying abroad in the Galapagos in early June.
I am so grateful to be working at Four Lakes Veterinary Clinic. Working for a clinic that provides top notch care and compassion for their patients has reinforced my desire to continue working towards a profession in Veterinary Medicine.
