Zaffre

Hi, I’m Zaffre (sounds kinda like “laughter”)! 

Growing up, I spent my volunteer hours walking dogs and cuddling cats at the humane society. My favorite movie was The Aristocats, and I could recite facts about nearly every breed of domestic feline. 

I graduated from UW-Madison in 2018 with a linguistics degree, but my passion was always in animal care. During college, I worked at the local cat cafe (RIP Cat Cafe Mad), and the work I did there alongside the rescue group Community Cat jump-started my career in veterinary medicine. After working as a veterinary assistant for over four years, I got my CVT license in 2023. My passions include anesthesia, critical care, and neonatal care. 

In my free time I enjoy making music, crafting costumes, and fostering felines. I live with my cats Spaghetti (pictured) and Butternut, my life partner, and our Klee Kai River. I’ve seen the difference a Fear Free approach has on our own critters, and I value the ability to offer that experience to all of our patients.
