Dr. Charles Longwhiskers

The first day, the first hour, he hid behind the washing machine. 10 years old, adopted from the shelter after a “lifetime” with his first family.

The perfect clinic cat- already declawed (BOO!), adult, and once he settled in, completely nonplussed.

Puppies licked his face, kittens swatted at him, and human children overzealously pet him.

He took it all in stride. . .or so it seemed. . .

Behind the scenes, he took it all out on his staff.

He taught us when & what to feed him; The exact, perfect, tiny stream of water to turn on for him and leave on as long as he wanted; When to clean his litterbox (constantly), how to pet him, (only his cheeks); To never, ever, ever dare to try to brush him.

But DO give him a rad mohawk to make him more comfortable in his last days.

As much as I fancy myself the star of Four Lakes, everyone knows that Charlie was the backbone.

We will miss him forever and ever.

Pippi

We miss our little Pippers every day. It’s been hard as we’ve lost two pets in a year. Everything is so quiet and our other dogs miss them too. It’s hard because they were part of our family for many years!
